Most likely this has to do with your hosting not allowing you to upload over a certain amount. Typically it's a setting in the php.ini file, you'd have to ask your hosting if you can have the upload limit raised to something larger. Typically it's your
upload_max_filesize
that's set to low.

Oh, and you may see the image I want to uploaded already up, but that's because I re sized it with imageshack, then upload it.

Looks like the problem is large dimensions.

That's the image I'm trying to upload. It's about 200KB

When ever I try to upload it, I get the page you'd normally get after an upload, but it's blank.

Screenshot: http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/6687/screenda4.png

I have other images that are about 50KBs uploaded. They worked just fine.

The Gallery is here: http://www.dnpen.com/someonejohn/gallerywedding/

I'm not sure if the problem is large dimensions or large files sizes.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I am guessing that your hosting has a upload limit and that is why you can't upload. PHP has a server setting to limit the upload size and I guess your hosting has limited that to something really small.

Have you updated the downloads? I grabbed the full version today and it seems to have the old js files.

But I was able lift the js files from your test site and it is fixed on IE 7.

I also notied a new (or another) problem. When the first image loads, the title at the bottom of the screen does not appear. If you click another image and gthen click back to the first, the title does appear. It does not appear on first load, though.

I have had this problem too and followed your instructions to download and replace the .js files. When I did this the large image sizes were set to 399 high which distorted my images and the first image still did not load. So I went back to my original and still the problem remains. Which lines of code were replaced? I'm not so familiar with javascript or php so I'm not sure whether the functions are javascript or php that you speak of.

The issues had to do with IE6 and IE7 not registering the onload, I rewrote the function for loading the first image and the some of the function for loading the image clicked on.

I also have IE7 and just tested this today and I had the same thing as the other guys. With an empty cache when i vist the page no image loads, it does resize after a second then it just keeps loading, i gave it a minute to see if it would eventually load and it did not. I clicked the second image and it appeared right away, then I clicked back to the first image and it appeared right away.

I'm running IE7 aswell.

When loading page the Loading image comes up and just keeps on going.
The Loading screen change the size to the one of the first picture but nothing more happens.

When clicking on one of the thumbnail pictures they do load up and thereafter you can go back to the first image aswell.

When clickin on the next arrow on the right of the picture the loading size changes but like the first picture it stays just loading.

On reloading the page the same things happens.

I don't know if this helps you but; when I run the gallery on my server with the getfolders.php from the Multiple errors thread I get the following message:

I have IE 7. The first time I load the page (or with the cache empty), the the first image doesn't display when the page loads, however the box resizes to the correct size of the image. Otherwise the "loading" graphic remains. If I click on a thumbnail other than the one for the first image, it displays that image. After at least one image displays, then I can click on the thumbnail for the first image and it will display.

When I refresh the page, the the first image doesn't display again, however the box again resizes to the correct size of the image. Otherwise the "loading" graphic remains. If I click on any thumbnail, the first image displays for a brief moment (it flickers) and then the "loading" graphic is displayed again - no other image displays (although the box resizes to the size of the image that is supposed to be displayed). It seems each time I click on a different thumbnail, the size of the first image that flickers changes - sometimes it's small, other times it's larger.

I tried to go to your site and look at the gallery but it's not there. Do you have a link so I can look at the page and see if I can determine what is wrong?

So I have been working on a solution for the bug with IE 6 and IE 7 where the first image doesn't load if the visitor has been to the gallery and then visits again and the first image doesn't load.

This has been a fix that is hard to diagnose simply because IE 6 and IE 7 do not output any debugging info as to help with the process. So my only way to fix the error is to take a guess at what is happening.

The gallery loads all the images using javascript functions and writing to the page after everything has loaded. My idea is to have the first image actually be output into the html when the page renders.

I've been working on a solution but I need help with people running IE 6 and IE 7, I don't run windows so it's hard for me to test it easily. Visit this link: http://www.e2interactive.com/e2_photo_gallery/e2_photo_gallery_full/ and let me know if the error still happens or help me debug this nagging error.

The issue with this is tied to the unzipping of the file, for some reason when unzipped with certain programs it does something to the files. If you are using Winrar to unzip your file, it could be Winrar that is causing this issue. Try another unzip program and see if it works.
