Have you updated the downloads? I grabbed the full version today and it seems to have the old js files.

But I was able lift the js files from your test site and it is fixed on IE 7.

I also notied a new (or another) problem. When the first image loads, the title at the bottom of the screen does not appear. If you click another image and gthen click back to the first, the title does appear. It does not appear on first load, though.

Thanks.

I have had this problem too and followed your instructions to download and replace the .js files. When I did this the large image sizes were set to 399 high which distorted my images and the first image still did not load. So I went back to my original and still the problem remains. Which lines of code were replaced? I'm not so familiar with javascript or php so I'm not sure whether the functions are javascript or php that you speak of.

I have posted the fix, download the latest version and simply update the e2photo.js and e2photo2.js files and you should be set.

The issues had to do with IE6 and IE7 not registering the onload, I rewrote the function for loading the first image and the some of the function for loading the image clicked on.

I also have IE7 and just tested this today and I had the same thing as the other guys. With an empty cache when i vist the page no image loads, it does resize after a second then it just keeps loading, i gave it a minute to see if it would eventually load and it did not. I clicked the second image and it appeared right away, then I clicked back to the first image and it appeared right away.

I'm running IE7 aswell.

When loading page the Loading image comes up and just keeps on going.
The Loading screen change the size to the one of the first picture but nothing more happens.

When clicking on one of the thumbnail pictures they do load up and thereafter you can go back to the first image aswell.

When clickin on the next arrow on the right of the picture the loading size changes but like the first picture it stays just loading.

On reloading the page the same things happens.

I don't know if this helps you but; when I run the gallery on my server with the getfolders.php from the Multiple errors thread I get the following message:

I have IE 7. The first time I load the page (or with the cache empty), the the first image doesn't display when the page loads, however the box resizes to the correct size of the image. Otherwise the "loading" graphic remains. If I click on a thumbnail other than the one for the first image, it displays that image. After at least one image displays, then I can click on the thumbnail for the first image and it will display.

When I refresh the page, the the first image doesn't display again, however the box again resizes to the correct size of the image. Otherwise the "loading" graphic remains. If I click on any thumbnail, the first image displays for a brief moment (it flickers) and then the "loading" graphic is displayed again - no other image displays (although the box resizes to the size of the image that is supposed to be displayed). It seems each time I click on a different thumbnail, the size of the first image that flickers changes - sometimes it's small, other times it's larger.

So I have been working on a solution for the bug with IE 6 and IE 7 where the first image doesn't load if the visitor has been to the gallery and then visits again and the first image doesn't load.

This has been a fix that is hard to diagnose simply because IE 6 and IE 7 do not output any debugging info as to help with the process. So my only way to fix the error is to take a guess at what is happening.

The gallery loads all the images using javascript functions and writing to the page after everything has loaded. My idea is to have the first image actually be output into the html when the page renders.

I've been working on a solution but I need help with people running IE 6 and IE 7, I don't run windows so it's hard for me to test it easily. Visit this link: http://www.e2interactive.com/e2_photo_gallery/e2_photo_gallery_full/ and let me know if the error still happens or help me debug this nagging error.

I am having this same problem. You can see the same problem on this web site in your Photography gallery by going from one category, to another, then back to the first again. The array isn't rebuilt or something... I don't know what's going on exactly, but I tried duplicating the folder as per the instructions, and it did not work. My next step was to rename as many variables as possible to insure their uniqueness, but alas that did not work either. Does anyone know of a way to make multiple galleries work for e2? Until then, I have to use another solution. Thanks!

I looked at your site and it's cool to see what you've done with the gallery.

Did you modify much of the code?

I only found the issue on the first gallery: weddings. On the other galleries it seemed to load fine. I am using Safari 3 Beta and I think that Apple has resolved the issue in Safari 3 Beta.

I've noticed that in Safari 2 the photo-gallery would work on the first load of the page, but on the second load the image wouldn't load correctly because of the way Safari cached the image. I haven't been able to find a work around for Safari 2.

I wasn't aware the issue was happening to IE6, I will look into it and see if I can find anything out that will fix it.

First of all I'd like to thank you for this great gallery which combines dynamicaly many features. Keep going!!!

I'm using E2 gallery for my site and I have the following problem:
I'm working with multiple galleries and I have a unique page and unique folder for each one, I follow your instructions on getting multiple galleries but at IE6 and Safari V2 when you move from one page to another (one gallery to an another) the main photo doesn't load or doesn't appear.
If you make a reload at that page everything is ok.

I was trying varius things to solve this, but my knowledge aren't enough.
Can you please help me about.
