The issue with this is tied to the unzipping of the file, for some reason when unzipped with certain programs it does something to the files. If you are using Winrar to unzip your file, it could be Winrar that is causing this issue. Try another unzip program and see if it works.

So I think I found out what is causing this issue. It seems that the few people that have downloaded the script have then used Winrar to unzip the files. Upon uploading the files they get a message like below:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/viastage/public_html/up/gallery/getfolders.php on line 1

I would recommend, if you get this error, to try using another program to unzip the gallery, then try uploading it to your server.

any other suggestions?

is it looking for a database or something? are you opposed to getting my ftp information so you can root around and check it out a little more? email me, if so and i'll give you access. i'd love to use this script and just embed it into this wordpress blog i'm putting together.

I have had a few people ask about this error and I have been stumped as to why it is happening. The only thing I can think that I've done differently is I have updated the files lately and zipped them using a different method. I have now change the way I've been zipping the files, and uploaded new files for download. Please try the new files and let me know if you continue to get the error.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
