You probably have an error with your images, there is no limit to the number of images you can have in a gallery. What happen with this guys, is he had an illegal character in the Image Meta data. View you image info/meta data and see if there are Copyright symbols or other symbols in your images Description, title or copyright info. That is what was wrong with his images, he removed them and his gallery worked fine after.
