    I installed the script like was said in the documentation yet I am still having problems.

    I edited the config file like the documentation said. My directory is gallery so I made both paths in the config file ../gallery/images and ../gallery/imagethumbs just like the documentation said.

    I still get the following error no matter what I try:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/bertsch/public_html/brentbertsch/gallery/uploader/index.php on line 1

    Please help

    This issue usually happens when your files were uncompressed from the zip files, are you using WinRaR to unzip the files? if so read this post on the solution.

    No, I was just using the Windows Unzip App. I also tried 7 zip and that did not work. I guess I will have to download WinRAR and see if I can get it working with that.

    I have installed many different scripts and I have never once had this problem.

    There seems to be an issue with when people uncompress the files and open it in Notepad, the line breaks and white space as been stripped. If you end up opening the file in some editors the file translation seems to stay intact. If the file, when you open it, is hard to read, cause everything is all on one line, then this is causing the errors to happen.

    I am using winzip and ive unzipped the files and worked with them locally ... tested them on my local machine using wamp server and they work fine. When i upload them they dont work. They give me this parse error.

    I have tried unzipping copies and not editting a single one but they still dont work whenever i upload them.

    I also try to visit the image uploader page and I get
    Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/content/j/e/e/jeefer/html/e2_photo_gallery_full/uploader/index.php on line 1

    You are probably experiencing the issue where the file, when uploaded, gets the white space stripped from the files, I've seen this happen a few times with others and it's typically fixed by opening up the files into something other than notepad and seeing if the files look formated correctly. I haven't been able to pinpoint why and where this issues happening, but it seems to be cause I am running os x and when someone in windows opens up the files in notepad it doesn't format correctly.

    I tried opening them in wordpad instead of notepad and am still getting the parse error.

    Try downloading the files again. I opened and formated the files on a windows box and then re-zipped the files. Try the download again and see if that fixes the issue.
