To use the e2upload you will need to have php 5 running. I'd recommend getting at least 5.2 the version you're using 5.1.3RC4-dev looks like it's a dev edition which is quite old as they're on 5.3. 5.1.3 was a build from 2006.

Sorry, I come back again.

I create a .htaccess at the root of my site to upgrade my php version to "PHP Version 5.1.3RC4-dev" (I found that solution on the web...). But I still cannot "Upload/Manage Images" or "edit xml".

will I reach to use this fabulous gallery script ?

Thanks a lot.

Hello,

on my site where I want to test the gallery it's php4 (http://etc.photo.free.fr/phpinfo.php).

But I also test it on my local server with Easyphp wich is running php5. And there I do not have the same message when I go to the E2upload folder(it is normal on this page) but when I want to "see gallery" (index.php page at the root of the folder), this page is white on Firefox 3.5.1 and IE7.

Thank you very much

e2gallerypro is a wonderfull gallery but...I got also a white page on the homepage. I can log with "e2upload" but then the message is:

Gallery Information

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /mnt/139/sdc/8/d/etc.photo/e2gallerypro/php/xmlparse.v5.php on line 33

I think I'm not able to resolve it alone...

the page where you can see my...white page: http://etc.photo.free.fr/e2gallerypro/

Yeah it looks like it's having trouble reading the e2gallery.xml file or did you change the XML file to look at in the e2config.php file? Did you upload the e2gallery.xml file in the e2upload/xml/ folder?

Hello - I also installed the new gallery and am getting a blank white page on my homepage. I can log into to the uploader, but I get this message upon logging in:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/content/b/r/i/brinel/html/php/xmlparse.v5.php on line 33

All I changed on install was the UN, PW in the config file, so I have no idea why nothing is showing up.

I'm not trying to do anything fancy, my page will just be the gallery. Will there be more documentation to help troubleshoot or can you help me figure out what I did?

Thanks

The
$myPHPversion
is actually for the XML parser, so it shouldn't effect the admin. The admin uses Filemanager for image upload and file management, that script requires PHP 5 to work.

Do you have a URL or what the error message that you got on the admin and or index page, to help me diagnose the error?

I just installed gallery pro and thought i would have access to the upload manager since my server is running php 5.2.6, but nothing worked until i edited the config file to version 4. any idea what's going on?

to clarify "nothing worked:" the gallery url displayed a blank white page and i got a php error when i logged into the upload manager.
