Umm I partially figured it out. It won't load the images into the main viewer. the thumbs issue was there was hidden .name.ext files in the images dir.

here is the sript error IE7 gives me:

Line: 62 - I have a lot of Line 62's any idea which one it's referring to?
Error: 'imggallery[...].0' is null or not an object

Woohoo, I solved my problem!

The CSS was calling to a invalid folder. (for my structure)

Now my problem is it won't display the images, it will show the thumbs tho.

In addition for my last post.

Is it possible to clear the tempgallery on page refresh. That seems to be my problem. When I view the page source it still shows the images that don't exist still in the tempgallery.

Hey I see this post is a few weeks old, but I'm having similar problems.

I run my own LAMP server Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. I have the gallery installed to SITE_URL/BucketPhotography/

It has the gallery there however it has many errors, but doesn't say that there are errors in the browser status bar :S.

First: It is completely unformatted, everything is scrambled/jumbled into a pile in the middle of the screen.
Second: My empty images imagethumbs folder says it has 9 images but when I nav there physically. There is only the image I uploaded with the uploader (which worked off the start)
Third: After I get it working - can someone help me call this to a div on a different page via AJAX? I have all the scripting to do it, just when I do it, it shows up just and messy as it is stand-alone.

You can see what I mean here: http://thetestinggrounds.dnsdojo.com/BucketPhotography/

Thanks so much - I'm up and running! Now for the fun part of playing around with it. Great design and good directions (minus my ignorance!) Thanks again!

You should try ../images/ and ../imagethumbs/ not ..\images and ..\imagethumbs

Ok, so I got the "shell" of the gallery to show up now on the main page. the PHP/Godaddy/Linux thing was the cause. Now the uploader tells me it uploads images and thumbnails correctly, but I don't see that my images loaded into the correct folders, however I did try "..\images", "..\imagethumbs" and just plain "image" and "imagethumbs" in the folder Location boxes; neither seemed to work. When I go to load the main page it just gives me the continuous "loading" image where the gallery should be. Down in the status bar it still has an Error on the page.

I have the images folder and imagethumbs folders in the right spot - I'm trying to just get it to work right out of the download, so I haven't changed anything to that affect. What do you think the problem is now?

Well after a little more reading, I discovered probably the main issue - I was on a Windows server that didn't support PHP with GoDaddy. I just switched it to Linux(no charge again for the free one) and according to quick serach on PHP and GoDaddy, it should update itself in the next few hours, so with the new PHP support/Linux, something should be working then. From the different forums I found, this probably is my first (maybe last?) issue. I'll post again if I'm still running into problems after this and your suggestions above.

I guess this is what happens when you have to learn-as-you-go. I really hope I can get this to work, it looks like a great set-up.

So it looks like you're getting an error in the php file first when you view the source: "Path is not a directory: images" which means it's not finding you image path set in the config.php file. Do you have an images folder in your root folder? Open up the config.php file and check your $gallerypath="whatever you put here" Make sure it points to the correct image path.

I know Godaddy sometimes puts a limit on the upload amount in their php_ini file. You'll have to contact them and see if you can have the "upload_max_filesize" raised to something higher then what they have it set to. Maybe a couple of MB.

I am very new to this - I am hosting with free GoDaddy and I just want an impressive site to showcase some photos and this seems to be a perfect fit. Except I can't even get the index.php file to show anything...it's just a white page with a javascript error.

I can get to the image uploader, but it won't let me load anything, says my files are too large. I've tried all sorts of sizes and nothing.

The directions seem to be very straight forward but I can't seem to get anything to work. I downloaded and unzipped twice, hardly changed anything and I can't get it to do anything. Obviously I need some directions that can be severely simplified.

Is there any hope for me? Any help is greatly appreciated.
