I did everything as written in the tutorial but when I try to upload I get this error

Error: Destination directory can't be made WRITABLE. Can't carry on a process

What's going on?
I didn't change the default dir for images and thumbs, and I wrote the right folder loacations i.e. ../images/ in the uploader.

I'm stuck, please help me.

Did you check to see if you folder's permissions are writable (777)?

You are right, I checked and my folder had a 666 permission. I went on remote via dreamweaver and tried to assign the 777 permissions but it seems like the server doesn't accept this way of setting permissions.
Can you suggest another way possible? Anyway I'm contacting the support of my DNS service.

I solved the problem.
You gave me the right hint, thank you so much. My server has a specific dir that has the 777 permission, so I moved all the script in there and now it works divine.
